CHILDREN VIDEO SUBMISSIONS

Nora Brennan Casting, NYC is casting the production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC which will
be presented by Paper Mill Playhouse in Milburn, NJ. Rehearsals begin Nov. 7, 2022.
Previews begin Dec. 2, 2022 and closes Jan. 1st, 2023.
There will be two earlier rehearsal days for Children: Sunday, October 30 and Sunday, November 6.

This breakdown is for the CHILDREN'S ROLES..
Although the adult roles are AEA/EMC, the children's roles are non AEA.
Children up to 14 years old, who are AEA, can defer their AEA status for this show.

LOCAL NY/NJ CHILDREN ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO SUBMIT THEIR AUDITIONS.

Some actors may be considered for understudy roles.

All performers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, as deﬁned by the CDC, with a ﬁrst booster
(if eligible) by ﬁrst rehearsal as a condition of employment. Vaccination requirements are
subject to change according to CDC guidance.


SEEKING:	FRIEDRICH VON TRAPP – 13 to 14 years old, male, all ethnicities. Strong singer/actor who moves well. Unchanged voice. LOUISA VON TRAPP – [12 to 13 years old, female, all ethnicities. Strong singer/actor who moves well. KURT VON TRAPP – 10 to 11 years old, male, all ethnicities. Strong singer/actor who moves well. Unchanged voice. BRIGITTA VON TRAPP – 9 to 10 years old, female, all ethnicities. Strong singer/actor who moves well. MARTA VON TRAPP – 7 to 8 years old, female, all ethnicities. Strong singer/actor who moves well. GRETL VON TRAPP – 5 to 6 years old, female, all ethnicities. Strong singer/actor who moves well.
PREPARE:	We would also like for your child to learn a song for the show. For ALL Children roles: PLEASE CLICK HERE for sheet music PLEASE CLICK HERE for a recording to learn the music PLEASE CLICK HERE for accompaniment to sing along with for your video On the video, please have your child start by saying their name, age, height, city and state and residence. Then sing the assigned song. When recording, please play music accompaniment out loud and have your child sing to that (no headphones please). Please ensure that all videos are combined into one file (.MOV or .MP4). Name the file with your child’s name and SOM. (For example: JohnSmith-SOM.mov). When filming, please video your child with camera or iPhone/Android in the landscape (horizontal) mode (do not hold phone vertical.). Please DO NOT film in 4K; please use standard definition. Please upload the finished video submission to YouTube or Vimeo. Password protect this video (do not make it available for public viewing) and send us the link and password to the video in your email.
